Our services include International Telephone, Public Internet and TV Re-Broadcast. C&W continues to invest in the network infrastructure on St Helena and in our international satellite links, enabling us to offer robust, high quality communications services for both residential and business customers on the island.

St Helena lies about 1500 km west of Angola, Africa The island have a land area of only 122 sq km. The climate is mild and moderated by the southeast trade winds. The terrain is mountainous, with the highest point, Diana’s Peak being 823 metres above sea level.   

 

St Helena was first discovered, uninhabited, in 1502 by the Portuguese, João da Nova Castella. The English arrived in 1588 and after various battles with the Portuguese and Dutch, assumed sovereignty in 1673.

 

The island is famous and world re-known as the place where Napoleon spent his life as prisoner following defeat at the battle of Waterloo, in 1815. He died on the island in 1821.
